I loved Jockamo's back when they had the little tiny store in Fern Park. Then they moved to Sand Lake Road, which I didn't get to very often since it was a lot farther from my house, but I still liked it.

That is, until the ownership changed. Once the original owners sold off the restaurant, I could have predicted that it wouldn't end well for Jockamo's. I noticed the prices went up, all the new employees were always really nasty, and they got rid of having stuff like etouffee and jambalaya all the time.

I do miss Jockamo's though. There really aren't too many good Cajun places is Orlando, and they were definitely the best.

@Shannon - Thanks for stopping by. I too was devastated when I found out they were closed. If they were indeed robbed, that is the most awful thing I can think of happening to them short of fire or death. Small businesses struggle enough without have something like that happen to them. Very sad for sure.

After being displaced by Katrina to Orlando, Jockamo's was a welcome taste of New Orleans, when we needed a fix. We drove by a couple of weeks ago and they were closed and we were devastated! Apparently they were robbed a and that put them out of business. I sure hope they catch whoever did it!!!! Very sad indeed:(
